A GIRL born with two bladders is facing an agonising wait for life-changing surgery.
The parents of Mia Solomiewicz, three, were thrilled when Scots medics finally agreed to operate on her.
But they fear she’ll be left in excruciating pain for months until she gets treatment for her complex medical needs.
Before she was born in December 2020, Mia had had several of her vital organs on the outside of her body.
The tot has an ileostomy, high blood pressure and takes specialised milk and medications.
We told last year how Mia, of Newton Mearns, near Glasgow, has to be fed by syringe and was left “close to death” after her stoma became infected.
Her mum Kinga and dad Karol flew to their native Poland last October for consultations and tests after being told it could be years before she’d get an NHS op.
After experts agreed she needs surgery, Mia has now been put on a waiting list here.
But Kinga, 40, is pleading for her not to be left suffering much longer.
She said: “Mia sometimes can’t eat for days. She needs care 24/7.
“She has been in a lot of pain with constant infections and she suffers every day.
“She is on a special diet, and can’t have normal milk or yoghurt, so her food is expensive. We also spend a fortune on her nappies.
“We came back from Poland absolutely drained and with no money, we’ve been living off of a food bank.
“We hope the surgery will give her back an appetite and she won’t be in agony any more.
“She might be able to go to soft play or go swimming like other kids.”
The couple have set up an online GoFundMe to help them meet the costs of Mia’s special diet and medical supplies.
