CELTIC are locked in a transfer tug of war for the signature of Scotland defender Scott McKenna, according to a report.
Hoops boss Brendan Rodgers is a long-term admirer of the player, who has been told he can leave the club next month with his contract due to expire in the summer.
Centre back is an area of flux in this Hoops team, with Nat Phillips likely to return to Liverpool in January amid reports that summer signing Gustaf Lagerbielke could also be set for the exit door.
Reports claimed that the Hoops had made an enquiry for Scotland centre-back McKenna – who was banished from training along with former Rangers flop Joe Worrall earlier this month.
And now The Athletic claims that Forest are hoping to recoup a transfer fee for the Scotland squad man, with Turkish outfit Trabzonspor emerging as a rival to the Hoops for his signature.
McKenna would rival Liam Scales for a role as a left-sided central defender in the Hoops squad – or release Scales to challenge Greg Taylor for the left back spot.
