Delhi school winter break extended till 12th January for students up to class 5: Atishi

Delhi winter break extended: Delhi Education Minister Atishi has announced that the winter break in Delhi schools are now extended till January 12, 2024. Amid the ongoing cold wave in Delhi, and the IMD issuing a yellow alert, classes for students form nursery up to class 5 have been suspended for the next five days.
The Delhi minister took to the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to announce the closure of Delhi schools in the coming week.She tweeted, “Schools in Delhi will remain closed for the next 5 days due to the prevailing cold weather conditions, for students from Nursery to Class 5.”

The Delhi government, in a previous order dated January 06, had extended the winter break in schools till January 10, for all government-aided and unaided, recognised private schools due to the ongoing cold wave. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a ‘yellow alert’,
However, the notice was quickly withdrawn, and a fresh notice was issued cancelling the extension. The withdrawal notice, numbered DE.23(3)/Sch.Br./2024/19, states unequivocally that the earlier directive, dated January 6, 2024, extending the Winter vacation, is null and void. In addition, the notice mentions the possibility of issuing additional orders on this subject in the future.
Now, the Delhi Education Minister tweeted about the extension of winter-break in Delhi schools for students from Nursery up to class 5, till January 12 (Friday).
