It’s a new era in Foxborough, and there’s a new first lady in town.
The Patriots hired linebackers coach Jerod Mayo as Bill Belichick’s successor on Friday after ending their 24-year partnership with the future Hall of Fame head coach the day prior.
As a result of the coaching change, all eyes are sure to be on Mayo’s wife, Chantel.
Meet the new first lady of the Patriots, who is bound to be every beauty lover’s dream.
Who is Jerod Mayo’s wife?
Chantel Mayo is a cosmetologist and haircare guru, according to her Instagram bio, which states she is also a creative cook, philanthropist and a floral and event designer.
She founded The Brand Finale, which is an online retail boutique for children’s clothing, in 2016.
Chantel also has extensive experience working in the beauty industry and had a celebrity clientele list.
The self-proclaimed “momtrepreneur” has more than 71,000 followers on Instagram.
How long have Jerod Mayo and his wife been married?
Chantel has been with the former Patriots linebacker since his college days, when he played football at Tennessee — before he was selected with the tenth overall pick by New England in the 2008 NFL draft.
They will celebrate 17 years of marriage on July 23, 2024.
Jerod Mayo and his wife Chantel have four children together
Mayo and Chantel share four children: Chya (born in 2010), son Jerod Jr. (born in 2011), Chyanne (born in 2014), Chylo, (born in 2017).
Chantel has shared a ton of family photos on her Instagram page, including other snaps of her outfits and business ventures.
Chantel supports Mayo on and off of the field
The businesswoman previously posted photos at Gillette Stadium supporting her “first-round draft pick” when he was a player and linebackers coach for the Patriots.
Chantel also posted a photo of her and Mayo with Belichick and his ex-girlfriend, Linda Holliday, whom he split with earlier this season, and former Patriots advisor and offensive line coach, Matt Patricia and his wife, Raina.
Holliday, who has been linked to Belichick since 2007, is the president of his Bill Belichick Foundation — and the ex-couple has yet to address their split publicly.
With that being said, Chantel could decide to take on a similar role with the Patriots or immerse herself in the organization in a bigger capacity.
What’s next?
Chantel and Mayo’s transition should be smoother since they already live in the area.
The couple has yet to publicly address Mayo’s promotion.
