Uploading marks on the portal is one of the main responsibilities of the schools to ensure that the result of the students is correctly declared and there should not be any problem for the students thereafter. However, the Board has observed that schools are sometimes not giving proper attention to this responsibility and thus committing mistakes.
Precautions to be taken by the Principals for the conduct of practicals
1. When the practical examination begins, the Internal Examiner and External Examiner need to review the Board’s guidelines and instructions. It’s crucial to follow these guidelines throughout the assessment.
2. They must verify the details of the marks as well as the bifurcation of marks from the Curriculum document.

3. After this initial check, proceed with conducting the practicals. Assign marks based on the predetermined values for different activities in the Practical/Project/Internal Assessment.
4. Before entering the marks on the Board portal, the Principal should double-check with both the Internal and External examiners to ensure that the marks are correctly awarded within the specified subject’s maximum marks.
5. Subsequently, upload the accurate marks on the server. Take a printout and cross-verify before the final submission on the portal. The award list requires signatures from the Internal Examiner, External Examiner, and the Principal for documentation.
6. Schools can implement additional measures as they see fit to prevent errors.

7. Principals should be aware that the Hon’ble High Court of Delhi recently rejected an appeal where a petitioner sought correction for marks wrongly uploaded on the server.
8. Once uploaded, the marks become final for result declaration, and no corrections will be allowed afterward.
“It is expected that Principals, Internal Examiners, and External Examiners will focus on awarding the marks correctly and uploading them correctly as no correction request will be acceded to, once marks are uploaded,” reads the official notice.
