MAN OF THE MATCH
Aberdeen skipper Graeme Shinnie ran himself into the ground but when it was a moment of quality Aberdeen needed, Bojan Miovski produced it. The way he turned Celtic centre-back Maik Nawrocki inside out, before calmly slotting past Joe Hart, was sensational. Miovski just gave Brendan Rodgers’ defence so much to worry about with a performance that made you wonder why the Parkhead club didn’t make an effort to sign him in January.
MAN IN THE MIDDLE
Referee Steven McLean wasn’t helped by a dodgy VAR link which saw kick-off delayed by a few minutes. Maybe that explained the extraordinary amount of time it took to disallow a Celtic goal – when Luis Palma was a good three yards off-side. But there was nothing to justify why he didn’t show a second yellow card to Maik Nawrocki after 55 minutes.
MEN IN THE DUGOUT
Peter Leven was thrust into the Aberdeen dugout after Barry Robson’s sacking earlier in the week and the Dons players gave him everything. He can be proud of the effort he got after such a tough week for the club. For Brendan Rodgers this was the last result he needed with the pressure already on him and the club following an underwhelming transfer window.
