Olise future
Pep Guardiola will fight Erik ten Hag all the way in the chase for Crystal Palace sensation Michael Olise.
Manchester City see the French talent as a major capture for the summer and they are lining up a huge offer.
Meanwhile, Ten Hag also wants Olise as a flagship arrival of the new Sir Jim Ratcliffe era at Manchester United.
But City hope the allure of joining Pep’s squad will tempt the Palace wideman.
Olise — who turned down Chelsea at the start of the season — has the skills for City’s style and also plays on the right, where they have room for a top operator.
Money will be no object as City will throw £60million or more at the Palace star, who limped off in the 4-1 defeat at Brighton, in the next window.
Chelsea may try again but it is shaping up to be a City vs United scrap.
He will only move if he thinks he will get game time and that is likely as Guardiola only plans minor squad changes.
Olise has scored six goals and registered three assists this season.
The 22-year-old’s contract at Selhurst Park runs until 2027 and there is reportedly a release clause in the deal – but the amount is unknown.
Deco laments Bergvall loss
Barcelona lost out on Sweden wonderkid Lucas Bergvall, who chose to join Tottenham instead
Barcelona director Deco has now spoken his piece.
He saidL “We have a clear plan: we only want to sign players who really want to play for Barcelona.
“We were in talks for Bergvall yes but as we are monitoring other talents, too much attention on the press…”.
Liverpool manager latest
Ruben Amorim will discuss his future at the end of the season, according to reports.
The Sporting Lisbon manager is reportedly on the shortlist to replace Jurgen Klopp at Anfield.
Now Teamtalk claim the Portuguese boss is due for talks with his club in the summer.
Xabi Alonso and Robert De Zerbi are also in the frame for the job.
Villa up to fourth
Aston Villa have leapfrogged Spurs and gone level on points with Arsenal in the Premier League.
Unai Emery’s men have recorded a stunning victory away from home against Sheffield United.
They ran out 5-0 winners, blitzing the hosts in the first half with four strikes.
Champions League beckons?
Gordon blow
Anthony Gordon left St James’ Park on crutches in yet another Newcastle injury blow.
The Toon winger, 22, was subbed off at half-time in the thrilling 4-4 draw with Luton this afternoon.
Pictures emerged afterwards of the Englishman limping past the dugouts using crutches with his right foot in a protective boot.
And it could prove to be another major problem for Eddie Howe if £45million attacker Gordon is sidelined with a serious issue.
Howe said: “It looked like he twisted his ankle.
“I wasn’t sure on the incident, I didn’t see what happened.
“But he was in a lot of pain at half-time and had to come off.”
Vinicius clause
As reported by Fabrizio Romano, there is no buy clause in the loan deal taking Carlos Vinicius from Fulham to Galatasaray.
Romano wrote on X`: “There’s no buy option clause included in Carlos Vinicius deal between Galatasaray and Fulham.
“Gala pay €600k loan fee to Fulham and €600k as salary coverage to Vinicius.
“He will be back to Fulham at the end of the season.”
