The expanded tournament will boast 48 teams instead of the usual 32.

And it will also be spread across THREE countries, with the USA, Canada and Mexico all playing host.

Yesterday’s announcements included confirmation that the iconic Estadio Azteca will hold the opening match of the tournament.

While the final will take place at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

But the biggest talking point yesterday was Infantino’s outfit.

The Fifa chief, president since 2016 after replacing Sepp Blatter, decided to opt for a bizarre hoodie and shirt combo.

The beige top matched the colour of his trousers.

And he completed the look by throwing a beige suit jacket over the hoodie.

Infantino attempted to keep things casual by leaving the hoodie and jacket unzipped.

But some cheeky supporters reckoned this made him look like movie baddie Emperor Palpatine from the Star Wars series.
