The X-rated footage seemed to play on a screen located outside one of the courts but inside the Estadio Mario Alberto Kempes grounds.

According to reports in Argentina, it played for several minutes, with tournament organisers yet to offer an explanation.

But World No78 Thanasi Kokkinakis saw the funny side of it as he reacted on social media to the clay-court tournament’s unfortunate incident.

He simply replied: “Hahahaha I’m done.”

Tennis fans then joined Kokkinakis in responding to the strange story – which occurred on the opening day of the ATP 250 event.

One said: “Well it’s one way to attract people to come and watch the tennis.. lol.”

While another added: “Took me a minute to figure out what I was looking at.

“Somebody [has] got some explaining to do.”

And a third said: “Well someone is losing their job today.”
