Eligibility
To be eligible for the JELET 2024 exam scheduled for June 29, 2024, interested candidates must adhere to specific criteria:
- Diploma holders aiming for admission to engineering and technology degree courses should have passed a minimum of three or two years (lateral entry) diploma examination with a minimum of 45% marks. Reserved category candidates should have scored at least 40% marks in any branch of engineering and technology. Alternatively, they should possess a BSc degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for reserved category candidates).
- For admission to Jadavpur University, candidates must secure at least 60% marks (45% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) or equivalent CGPA in the diploma examination. DVoc candidates are not eligible for admission to Jadavpur University through lateral entry.
- BSc and BVoc candidates seeking admission to engineering and technology degree courses should have passed BSc or BVoc degree from any UGC-recognized university with a minimum of 45% marks (40% for SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD).
- Diploma holders in pharmacy aiming for admission to a degree course in pharmacy should have passed the diploma in pharmacy with at least 45% marks. Reserved category candidates should have obtained at least 40% marks or equivalent CGPA from an institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India.
Application fee
The application fee for the JELET 2024 exam varies based on gender and category.General male candidates are required to pay Rs 500, while general female candidates will pay Rs 400. Male candidates from SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, EWS categories will pay Rs 400, whereas female candidates from these categories will pay Rs 300. Third-gender candidates will pay Rs 300 for the application process.

What is JELET 2024?
JELET stands for Joint Entrance Lateral Entry Test. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) for admission to the second year (third semester) of four-year B.Tech courses in engineering and technology in government and private colleges in the state of West Bengal.
