UPSC Geo Scientist Prelims: The Union Public Service Commission has released the Combined Geo Scientist preliminary examination 2024 admit card on its official website- upsconline.nic.in. Candidates who have registered themselves for the preliminary examination round, can find the admit card link on the official website of UPSC to download their respective admit cards.
The recruitment round aims to fill a total of 56 posts of UPSC Geologist, Geophysicist, Chemist and Scientist (Hydrogeology, Chemical and Geophysics).The age limit was restricted to minimum age of 21 years and a maximum cap of 32 years. The preliminary exam is scheduled to take place on February 18, 2024 for which admit cards have now been made available.
How to download UPSC Geo Scientist Prelims 2024 admit card?
Step 1: Go to the official website of UPSC examinations at upsconline.nic.in
Step 2: On the homepage, locate the link mentioning “e-Admit Cards for Various Examinations of UPSC” and click on it. You will be redirected to a new page.
Step 3: Check for examination name ‘Combined Geo-Scientist (Preliminary) Examination, 2024′ and click on the ‘Download’ e-admit card link.
Step 4: On the new page, read the important instructions and click on “Yes” at the bottom of the page.
Step 5: Choose the option of either using your registration or roll number for logging in to the portal.
Step 6: Enter your credentials like the roll number or registration number, select your date of birth and submit.
Step 7: Once the e-admit card loads, check for correctness of all the details and download it. Keep a print version ready for exam day.

Important guidelines issued by UPSC for Combined Geo Scientist exam
The UPSC issued exam guidelines for candidates appearing in the prelims round. Further, candidates must adhere to these in order to have a stress-free exam experience:

  • Check the e-Admit Card carefully and bring discrepancy(ies), if any, to the notice of the Commission immediately.
  • Bring this e-Admit Card (printout), along with the (original) Photo Identity Card, whose number is mentioned in the e-Admit Card, in each Session to secure admission to the Examination Hall. E-Admit Card must be preserved by the candidates till the declaration of the final result.
  • Candidate who does not produce his/her e-Admit Card for checking in at the allotted venue shall not be allowed to enter the examination venue.
  • Candidates are not allowed to enter the examination premises with any valuables/costly items, mobile phones, smart/digital watches, other IT gadgets, books, bags etc. Candidates are advised not to bring banned items as Venue Supervisors will not make any arrangement for keeping these items at the Venue.
  • The entry of the Candidates in the Venue shall be closed 30 minutes prior to the commencement of the examination (in each Session). No candidate shall be allowed entry into the Examination Venue after closure of entry.
  • Candidates should note that they will not be allowed to appear at any other venue except for the venue mentioned in their e-Admit Cards.
  • Possession / use of Mobile Phones (even in switch-off mode) and other Electronics / Communication devices or any other incriminating material (notes on e-Admit Cards, papers, erasers etc.) or violation of any Instruction shall entail disciplinary action which may include cancellation of candidature of candidate, filing of FIR/Police complaint against the candidate or prohibition from appearing in subsequent Session(s) of the examination.
  • Candidates who do not have a clear photograph on the e-Admit Card will have to bring two passport-size photographs (one for each Session) required to be pasted on the undertaking provided at the examination venue.
  • Candidates should note that any omission/mistake/discrepancy in encoding/filling in details in the OMR answer sheet, especially with regard to Roll Number, Test Booklet series code, will render the answer sheet liable for rejection.
  • There will be a penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by the candidate in Objective-type Question Papers.
  • Candidates are also advised to bring a black ballpoint pen to the Examination Hall/Room for taking the examination. Answers other than those made by a black ballpoint pen will not be evaluated.
