A SUPER-FIT gran is today celebrating beating cancer five times.
Natalie Yates-Bolton, 57, twice overcame Hodgkin’s lymphoma before facing three bouts of breast cancer.
The nursing lecturer endured 11 ops, 30 chemotherapy sessions and 55 rounds of radiotherapy.
Undeterred, she completed six marathons, three ultramarathons and three triathlons — and now doctors have told her she is cancer free.
Natalie, married to Gary, 66, with two daughters and two grandchildren, spent six years on a drug called palbociclib.
Doctors at Manchester’s Christie NHS Foundation are thrilled with her progress, with scans showing all cancers gone.
Natalie was 22 when she was first diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma while a nursing student.
She refused to halt her degree and went on to obtain a PhD — before the disease returned at 37.
She was diagnosed with breast cancer at 43 and it returned a third time in 2017.
Natalie, of Chadderton, Gtr Manchester, said “I’m proof you can rebuild your life.”
Oncologist Dr Sacha Howell said: “She is exceptional and inspirational.”
