True love, Valentine’s Day, and a group marriage in Santa Clarita – Daily News

Seven couples got married at the same time on Valentine’s Day, 2024, in a unique wedding ceremony when the City of Santa Clarita hosted the “Big I Do” event at The Grand Room in the Canyon Country Community Center. Wedding experts from Santa Clarita’s City Hall ceremonies program worked with local wedding vendors to put together the group weddings and reception.

Among the couples who were married at the event were Mary Luz and Aldren Yangat who shared their first dance with six other couples. Kira and Nathan Martinez took their wedding vows in dramatic all-black wedding attire. And Sezanah and Michael Humber showed off their rings to the attendees after saying “I do.”

Seven couples kissed at the end of the wedding, including the smiling newlyweds Eva and Lilian. Couples shared a first dance after being wed and after the big to-do, and newlyweds Rose and Miguel posed outside, obviously thrilled to hold their wedding with many other couples — and lots of strangers looking on.

Aside from the wedding itself, the couples had brunch, their images were captured by a professional photographer, and they danced, danced, danced.
