TV personality and actor Lunga Shabalala, who is famously known for his roles in The River and Legacy has secured a leading role in Netflix’s A Soweto Love Story.

LUNGA SHABALALA: NEW ROLE
Entertainment commentator Phil Mphela reports that the popular actor Lunga Shabalala is starring in the upcoming romantic comedy A Soweto Love Story.
Surgezinc reports that the upcoming film will also feature The Estate star Sparky Xulu and 7de Laan star Ray Neo Buso, who will portray brothers in the upcoming Netflix romantic comedy.
The brothers must navigate the unpredictable landscape of the dating world as they race against time to find brides. The film is centered around Bongekile (Duduzile Ngcobo) who dreams of finding a makoti to bring love and companionship into her all-boys household.
Shabalala has also appeared in Miseducation as Sivu, Task Force as Zuko, The River as Lindelani and many more.

BACKGROUND OF ‘A SOWETO LOVE STORY’
The Ngubeni matriarch Bongekile (Duduzile Ngcobo) will challenge her three unmarried sons to get married by the New Year if they want to inherit the family home.
“When her three grown sons show no signs of settling down and starting their own families, a mother uses the coveted family home to entice them into doing the right thing – the first to get married before the New Year wins the home,” reads the synopsis of the film.
South Africans can expect a series of humorous events as the brothers go to great lengths to find their perfect matches. The show promises to be a refreshing addition to the rom-com genre.
The romantic comedy film, A Soweto Love Story will premiere on Netflix on Valentines Day, 14 February 2024.
