Adelaide defender Najwa Allen facing biggest ban in AFLW history

Adelaide defender Najwa Allen is facing a ban of at least three matches after being sent straight to the AFL tribunal for an off-the-ball hit.

And Essendon star Madison Prespakis received mixed news – being handed a one-match ban for one incident, but being cleared on another matter.

Allen’s hit on Western Bulldogs small forward Kirsten McLeod was classified as careless conduct, severe impact and high contact.

The hit concussed McLeod, and Allen will now front the AFL tribunal to learn her fate.

If she is found guilty, she will receive a ban of at least three matches.

Prespakis was cleared of any wrongdoing for her dump tackle on Richmond star Monique Conti.

The match review officer deemed Conti’s arms were free in the tackle and the force applied wasn’t excessive.

But Prespakis was slapped with a one-game ban for a rough conduct incident on Sarah Hosking, meaning she will miss this week’s clash with West Coast.

Greater Western Sydney’s Rebecca Beeson was handed a one-match ban for rough conduct on St Kilda’s Tyanna Smith.
