As a court-appointed receiver attempts to collect a multi-million-dollar judgment against Adrian Peterson for defaulting on a 2016 loan, a collection of trophies, game balls and several other items belonging to the former football star who lives in the Houston area are up for auction.

But the 38-year-old Peterson, who earned about $100 million during his decorated, 15-year-career as an NFL running back, attempted to squash speculation he is in dire straits financially in a self-recorded video he posted to social media on Wednesday night. He claimed he is “financially stable” and that an estate sale company is offering up his trophies without his authorization, adding that he plans to take legal action.

An online auction being conducted by Houston-based Texmax Auctions, LLC – which opened Feb. 15 and concludes Feb. 29 – features nearly 1,000 items. The collection is largely clothing as well as athletic apparel and memorabilia, including trophies and plaques awarded to Peterson for being named Rookie of the Year in 2007 and NFL Player of the Year in 2012.

“We allowed them to go into several of our storage units with clear instructions. They clearly did something unlawful,” Peterson said in the video posted to his X and Instagram accounts. “I want to emphasize that I am financially stable and would never sell off my hard-earned trophies. And if I was going to sell them, I know people that I could sell them to. I wouldn’t go online and sell my personal items randomly.”
