The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has launched its “Support to Students for Participating in Competitions Abroad” SSPCA scheme for encouraging Indian students to participate in global competitions.
The AICTE SSPCA scheme provides financial assistance of up to Rs 2 lakh per student on a reimbursement basis. This assistance covers a variety of expenses, such as international and domestic travel, registration fees, visa application fees, lodging and boarding, airport taxes, travel health insurance, and competition equipment costs.
Furthermore, the AICTE SSPCA scheme provides a travel grant for individual students or student teams wishing to compete in international competitions.Students aspiring to represent India on the global stage receive comprehensive support, including financial assistance, mentorship, and logistical guidance. This programme allows students to network with peers, industry leaders, and academicians from around the world, enhancing their overall experience and exposure.
How to apply for assistance?
To apply for assistance, follow these steps:
Step 1: Send the application “offline” to AICTE New Delhi.
Step 2: Include necessary enclosures such as: Acceptance letter from the competition organizers; mention full competition details.
Step 3: Submit the application at least two months before the event starts. AICTE will provide all necessary support to promote the scheme.
The AICTE has informed that that submission of a proposal doesn’t automatically imply AICTE approval.
