More people with disability are accessing WA beaches than ever before. And rightly so — going to the beach is something to savour for many West Australians, but for people with disability, the beach has in the past been a no-go zone.
There’s more than 400,000 West Australians with a disability, and they, like everybody deserve to enjoy a day at the beach. But for many, walking on sand or getting into the water is extremely challenging and can be enough to prevent them from enjoying one of Australia’s favourite pastimes.
