Amal Clooney is often recognized for her sterling reputation as a defender of human rights. The barrister’s impressive record includes defending victims of ISIS and the war in Ukraine, advocating for wrongly imprisoned journalists, and uplifting the voices of women worldwide. But tonight, Clooney and her husband George are turning the tables to honor those who are doing similarly valiant work at the second annual Albie Awards in New York City, which are presented by the Clooney Foundation for Justice.
For the event Clooney looked radiant in a white, floor-length Versace dress complete with spaghetti straps and train. While it appears simple, the entire dress is covered in a rhinestone netting, ensuring that she’ll sparkle all night. Clooney went to Milan to help bring the custom look to life, and even gave the Versace team an unexpected piece of inspiration. “I actually had taken a sample from a simple beach dress that I have, and we worked from there,” she told Vogue. The barrister famously doesn’t work with a stylist to curate her wardrobe, and instead does it all herself. Of the task, Clooney says, “It’s fun. You can make your look an expression of your mood. But it definitely helps to have talented people like their team at Versace.”
Clooney’s accessories tied in perfectly to her bejeweled look. She carried a white, structured clutch with a rhinestone clasp, and was positively dripping in diamonds. The human rights lawyer was decked out in a pair of chin-length earrings, a cuff, and several rings. Alongside George, in his black tuxedo, the two looked ready to tie the knot all over again.
