amaysim plans: The small telco springing all the seasonal savings

One mobile phone telco offering big savings is amaysim.

Powered by the Optus network, amaysim has just announced a whole bunch of discounts and bonus data on its current plans as well as some new, competitively priced plans.

Here’s a look at the telco’s latest deals across mobile plans and how they compare to Optus’ SIM-only plans:

Discounted and new cheap SIM-only plans

amaysim’s SIM-only plan is usually its $30 32GB SIM-only plan. But now it’s even cheaper after being marked down by $18. And it comes with a bonus 8GB of data on the first renewal.

On September 14 it’s also slashing its typically $40 80GB plan down to $18 for the first renewal. That’s a huge saving of $22.

The telco has also added a new unlimited 10GB Plan priced at $18. This is a great option if you don’t use much data. These plans are available on a 28-day expiry so here are all of amaysim’s 28-day expiry SIM-only plans:

New long-expiry SIM-only plans

amaysim has added two new long-expiry plans for those who would rather set and forget their mobile plan and save a little bit extra while they’re at it.

Its $170 long-expiry plan for 150GB over 12 months equates to just over $14 per month for 12.5GB while the $220 plan for 200GB over 12 months works out to be just over $18 per month for 16.7GB of data each month.

Both these plans last a full 12 months and include unlimited data-banking. If you opt for the pricier option, you also get unlimited international calls to 28 select locations, including the NZ, UK, USA and Japan.

amaysim vs Optus

Choosing amaysim over Optus will result in two things: fewer perks, like discounted access to Optus Sport and 5G access, but a cheaper price.

Optus’ 28-day expiry plans start at $35 per month, so just more than triple the price of amaysim’s.

For comparison, here are Optus’ 28-day expiry plans:
