Andy Cohen reflects on ‘creepy’ Britney Spears interview during conservatorship: She was ‘captive’

Andy Cohen says interviewing Britney Spears in the midst of her “abusive” 13-year-long conservatorship was “creepy’ and “weird.”

During his SiriusXM show, “Andy Cohen Live,” on Wednesday, Cohen, 55, reminisced about meeting with Spears around the time of her “Glory” album release in 2016.

He claimed his industry friends warned him prior to meeting about a “woman who is at Britney’s side at all times, and she basically tells her what to do and where to go and it’s really creepy.’”

“And I get there and this woman was there and it was like Britney was her captive,” Cohen revealed.

The “Watch What Happens Live” host continued, “Now, Britney mentions her by name in the book a lot and how much she hated her and I’m not going to mention her name ’cause I don’t want to get sued, but it was really creepy.”

“[The woman was] Whispering in her ear before everything and we’re sitting up there on stage with me and Britney and will.i.am and she comes up and says something in her ear and Britney’s like, ‘Mhm mhm.’”

Cohen also described a bizarre moment during the interaction when Spears’ team brought in a birthday cake for the pop icon even though she reminded them that her birthday happened a month ago.

“And I’m like, ‘What are they doing?’” Cohen remembered. “You know? And it was clearly for the cameras and it was just all so weird.”

The Post has contacted a rep for Spears for comment.

The “Stronger” singer’s conservatorship lasted from February 2008 to November 2021. She accused her father and one of her conservators, Jamie Spears, of abuse during that time, alleging that he secretly spied on her using illegal surveillance.

Britney also claims she was forced on birth control and made to perform in Las Vegas during the conservatorship as well as put on lithium, which is most commonly prescribed for bipolar disorder, and made her “feel drunk.”
