Murray, 36, freshened up his cooking skills ahead of the big Christmas turkey he’ll be whipping up next month by taking part in an expert lesson from Mary Berry.

The ex-Wimbledon champ and his grandmother Shirley are among the guests on her upcoming BBC One festive special.

She has travelled north of the border to her mum‘s homeland to film Mary Berry’s Highland Christmas.

The famous chef met up with Murray alongside other Scottish celebrities including singer Emeli Sande and Love Island narrator Iain Stirling.

The two-time Wimbledon champ was honoured to be in Mary’s presence and even compared meeting the icon to playing in a grand slam.

He said: “Was I nervous? I’d say it was right up there with receiving serve at match point on Centre Court.”

The programme was filmed at the Cromlix Hotel in Stirling and the hotel posted a picture of Murray with Berry and his grandmother on social media.

And all eyes were on the tennis legend’s festive jumper, which was covered in llamas in Christmas colours.

One fan described the upcoming show as a “treat” whilst others expressed their desire to buy their own cardigan.

Someone replied: “I want a Christmas Lama jumper!”

Another fan said: “Oooh, something to look forward to! Love the llama jumper!.”

One other hailed: : “Llama Christmas jumper of dreams.”

A fourth wrote: “Well done…such a treat.”

And a fifth insisted: “Oh wow, how fantastic, look forward to it.”

The post from Cromlix hotel read: “It was a pleasure hosting Dame Mary Berry, @andymurray and Granny Erskine in the kitchen at Cromlix for a very special cookery lesson.

“Watch Mary Berry’s Highland Christmas on BBC One this December to see how it turned out!”
