Antoine Arnault to step down as Berluti CEO

LVMH announced on Tuesday that Antoine Arnault will relinquish his role as chief executive officer of luxury marque Berluti, effective January 1, 2024.

Jean-Marc Mansvelt, who has been chief executive officer of Chaumet since 2014, will take up the CEO role at the Parisian footwear and leather goods maker.

“I am very happy and quite emotional to welcome Jean-Marc as the new CEO of the exceptional maison Berluti, building on values of elegance, audacity and unique savoir-faire,” said Arnault.

“Jean-Marc’s wealth of experience that he has demonstrated throughout these years will be decisive assets in driving the ongoing development of Berluti.”

Coinciding with the reshuffle, the French conglomerate said Charles Leung, chief executive of jewellery brand Fred, will take over as chief executive at Chaumet. A replacement for Leung will be found internally, said the Paris-based parent company in a press release.

The eldest son of LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault, Antoine Arnault was appointed to lead Berluti in 2011. That same year, Berluti, founded as a cobbler in 1895, released its first-ever ready-to-wear collection under his leadership.

More recently, Berluti announced in early November it will design the summer Olympics and Paralympics opening ceremony uniforms for the French teams, with Arnault credited with negotiating LVMH’s 150 million euros worth Olympics sponsorship deal initially announced in July.

While the scion is stepping down from Berluti, Arnault will remain president of luxury brand Loro Piana, chief executive officer and vice-chairman of the board of directors at Christian Dior SE, and head of communication and image at LVMH.
