Arc’teryx, the Canadian high-performance outdoor apparel and accessories brand, is upsizing in London’s Covent Garden with a “significantly” larger store compared to its initial unit in the area.
Opening early next year, the new 8,000 sq ft King Street flagship store will mark a 400% increase in its retail footprint. Sitting adjacent to brands such as Glossier, Apple, Aēsop, and the Covent Garden Piazza, Arc’teryx “will deliver a comprehensive collection” featuring its full range of technical gear, footwear, and accessories for a variety of outdoor sports, such as mountaineering, climbing, hiking, skiing, and more.
At the same time, the new flagship reflects the brand’s “latest move to reaffirm [its] commitment to, and success within, the destination, reinforcing Covent Garden’s appeal in attracting high-quality retailers”, noted property owner/landlord Shaftesbury Capital.
The store will follow the brand’s current retail format and design, with the nearby Long Acre store continuing to trade until early next year.
“Specialising in long-lasting, durable products crafted with high-quality materials”, Arc’teryx first opened in Covent Garden two years ago, “delivering its first European concept to visitors and championing the brand’s most renowned designs”.
Sven Radtke, EMEA General Manager, said: “We have seen a lot of success since its opening two years ago and plan to open a bigger store to fully immerse our guests into an elevated experience of our brand.
“In this key location within London, the new [store] will showcase a wider range of products and services for our community to enjoy such as ReBird, our circularity programme that focuses on the care and repair, and up-cycling of our products.”
