Atlein Fall 2024 Ready-to-Wear Runway, Fashion Show & Collection Review

Antonin Tron studied strong female characters in science fiction, like Sigourney Weaver in “Alien,” Natalie Portman in “Annihilation” and Scarlett Johansson in “Under the Skin” for inspiration to launch a fuller outerwear range in the hues of tomato red, muted green, tawny brown and space gray for fall 2024.

The bombers, teddy jackets and aviator-style coats in cracknyl, a water-repellent bonded fabric invented by Cristóbal Balenciaga, answered the long-awaited question of what an Atlein woman wears outside Tron’s sensual and sculptural creations, which came in sequins, lace and crystal mesh this season in addition to ribbed and viscose jersey.

Tron kept the length of most of the outerwear pieces above the waist. It was arguably a conscious choice to provide just the right amount of coverage for his customers, who are probably very proud of their curves.

The use of zips as decorations — a first for the brand — also hearkened back to Tron’s obsession with films set in post-apocalyptic scenarios, where utility and military details became synonymous with courage, determination and strength.

Post show, Tron spoke about an analogy between fashion and the alien form in “Annihilation,” which keeps on modifying everything it touches genetically.

To him, textiles from the past are the genes, and his vision for an designer brand that’s sustainable on an industrial level is the alien form that one day may revolutionize the world.
