Aussie brand Mermade Hair launches ‘Aircurl’ for curls without extreme heat and shoppers dub it ‘dupe’ of Dyson Airwrap

Mermade Hair has launched a highly anticipated new product – and the hot pink buy has been dubbed a “dupe” of the Dyson Airwrap by shoppers.

At $99, the “Aircurl” is a fraction of the Dyson’s $949 price tag so it’s the perfect “entry” gadget for those wanting to test out curling their hair using the power of air rather than extreme heat.

Traditional hair tools can reach temperatures of up to 220°C trying to create a style.

But the Aircurl has three heat settings – low heat 105°C, medium heat 115°C and high heat 125°C – and is suitable for both dry or damp hair.

Simply wrap the hair around the barrel or clamp, roll the hair up and let the air set the curl.

From a technical perspective, the vented design of the barrel means you get 360°C airflow for faster drying and styling.

The no-crease clamp will ensure you get better grip and control when you’re styling.

And the barrel itself can be removed and popped onto the Mermade Hair Interchangeable Blow Dry Brush base.

The brand recommends using the Aircurl on 90 per cent dry hair for curls or dry hair for a blowout look.

It’s been on the market for only a week but already customers are excited to tap into the heatless curl market.

“This air curler is everything and more. It’s literally a dupe of the Dyson Airwrap and I’m happy to share that I stopped using my Dyson,” one woman remarked.

“The bounce it creates in your hair is everything,” said another.

A third added: “I am so excited to get mine in the post”.

Mermade Hair offers a 30-day money back guarantee on its products so if you do wish to return it before the month is out you can.

Founded in 2019 by Perth businesswoman and mother-of-two Tara Simich, Mermade Hair now boasts 393,000 Instagram followers.

It also has a string of celebrity fans including fitness queen Tammy Hembrow and Khloe Kardashian.

The first “Mermade Hair Waver” launched in Australia in August 2019 and sold out just hours later as women rushed to recreate the soft, cascading “mermaid” locks made famous by Kim Kardashian.
