As more and more Aussies turn away from traditional gel manicures – whether for cost of living (they often cost upwards of $40) or other reasons – a raft of alternatives are popping up and dominating the market.
None more so than press-on nails or gel stickers.
By Me & Crew by young Aussie entrepreneur Pamela Yip, 30, is one such business owner turning over a small fortune.

Pamela’s pretty and fun gel nail stickers went viral after she launched the company in late 2021 – with over 60 million views on TikTok in six weeks and some 15,000 loyal customers.
The nails work by semicuring real liquid gel onto the sticker sheets.
You then stick them on to your own nails like a sticker and then put them under By Me & Crew’s UV lamp for 60 seconds, where they harden like an actual gel nail.
By Me & Crew’s nail sticker sheets have now made over seven figures, and they’ve been spotted on a range of influencers and celebrities.
Shoppers love the nails for a variety of reasons.
But it’s hard to get past the salon-style gel finish at a budget price without the damage.
“By Me & Crew’s nails are salon gel nails, but they’re one third of the price, they take one third of the time and they come without any of the nail damage,” Pamela claims.
“A By Me & Crew manicure lasts up to two to three weeks, no chips.”
“They’re a flexible, stretchy, and wearable material which fits to all nail shape and sizes!” Pamela promises.
They are also easy to get on and off, as well as being vegan.
The nails come in a host of on-trend colours and patterns, including pink Hailey Bieber-inspired glazed doughnut nails, pink daisy pattern and burgundy nails.
Prices start from just $27.50 for one full kit.
When By Me & Crew launched, it wasn’t long before Pamela experienced a rush on stock – selling out of what she thought was a month’s worth of nails in just three days.
“We’ve surveyed 1,000 customers and nine out of 10 agreed it’s easier to put them on and off than they thought!” Pamela says.
“Customers who try our products say they won’t be going back to the salon again.”
Reviews online are glowing for By Me & Crew, where there are currently more than 900 four and five star reviews.
“My second go at these, loving it! The pic is two weeks in and they have lasted so well. I am actually getting length in my nails which previously when I have had shellac or SNS, they just break and chip constantly. Ordering my next sets!” one reviewer wrote.
“Each time I apply these I get quicker and better! Super impressed with the longevity – I can get about 2.5-3 weeks before they need to be refreshed. Removal is the easiest and quickest process!” another added.
A third said: “Great quality, exactly as advertised. I got two weeks wear without any chips or peeling/lifting. I only took them off because my nails grew! Minimal nail damage and nails felt strong while wearing them”.
