Aussie TikToker Alice Raspin earns almost 190k a year & can’t afford holidays

A young Australian TikToker has expressed utter confusion at how people afford self care and holidays — despite her juxtaposing household income.

Alice Raspin has posted multiple videos questioning how people manage their finances in Australia’s cost-of-living and housing crisis when she and her partner are struggling to follow their budget.

The “motherhood, finance and lifestyle” TikToker said self care such as hair, nails, lashes and brows were a “luxury”.

Raspin has a combined income of $180,000 and lives with her partner and child in Cairns.

The 27-year-old revealed that she has a “pretty strict” budget, leaving her with a spending limit of $150 a fortnight to help save up for a house.

She went through her self care expenses, calculating that she would spend $100 a month on nails, $200 every eight weeks on dying her hair and about $170 a fortnight on a service including a lash lift and tint, and brow lamination, sculpt and dye.

This leaves her $120 over spending budget.

In another TikTok, the mother-of-one shared that she cannot afford a holiday — even to the notoriously cheap holiday hotspot of Bali.
