Australia Post customer takes to social media to criticise driver’s weak attempt at delivering package

A woman has blasted Australia Post after getting a weak excuse for not receiving a package.

On the parcel in blue pen, the driver has written “unable to find parking”, with an additional note saying “sorry lady doesn’t like me parking in unit blocks”.

The angry customer saw the driver’s note and took to social media to vent her frustration.

“How’s this for a reason to not deliver the mail!!” she raged.

Another Facebook user fumed at “the atrocious level of service by what used to be one of the world’s best postal services. Now it is a farce!”

The North Manly woman was forced to pick up the package from a nearby post office at the end of last month.

Australia Post would not confirm if it had apologised to the woman, only saying it was investigating the incident.

“Australia Post delivery drivers and posties will make every attempt to park nearby to make their deliveries,” a company spokesman said.

“They are instructed to leave a card in the mail in certain circumstances, including if they are unable to access a property due to access or safety issues.”

The North Manly woman is far from the only person to experience problems with Australia Post.

One Facebook group titled “Australia Post Complaints” has more than 17,500 members and attracts about six posts a day.

As recently as Friday morning, another woman reported a similar issue.

“They don’t even ring the doorbell. They just send a text to collect the parcel,” she fumed.

Australia Post said any customers who experienced issues with their deliveries could call 13 POST for help.
