Avanti will open a $4 million food hall on Vail Mountain in 2025

Avanti Food & Beverage is bringing its third food hall to Vail Mountain skiers and snowboarders.

The Denver-based business and Vail Mountain announced on Tuesday that they are making a joint $4 million investment to build an Avanti food hall next year in place of Larkspur Restaurant, which has operated in the Golden Peak base area for the past 25 years.

Avanti Vail, like its Denver and Boulder counterparts, will be a culinary incubator for chefs looking to test out a brick-and-mortar concept in a smaller food stall. It will offer a wide array of gourmet dishes at affordable prices. Housing and transportation will also be offered for Avanti staff members, according to the press release.

“Vail has become an international destination with a thriving culinary scene, and we are excited to expand to Vail and be a part of the action,” Avanti co-owner Rob Hahn said in a statement. “I have lived in the Vail Valley for many years, and I think there is a great opportunity for local chefs to succeed in a food hall here. Our goal is to provide affordable, yet delicious dining options on the mountain where guests can come with groups and don’t need reservations. Our patio is going to be an après-ski hot spot, with great views of the mountain and a new outdoor bar.”

Hahn and business partner Patrick O’Neill opened Avanti’s first location in Denver’s LoHi neighborhood in 2015, featuring seven vendors, many of which have graduated and since opened their own brick-and-mortar space, like MAKfam. The duo added a second on Boulder’s Pearl Street in 2020.
