It’s the teen series that’s taken the world by storm. And now we get even more of it!
Prime Video has announced they have greenlit another ten episodes for a third season, set to begin filming soon.
The announcement comes off the back of huge buzz generated by the show’s second outing, which became one of the 10 most-watched seasons of any series streaming on Prime Video.
When it debuted in July this year, it more than doubled Season One’s viewership within three days of launch and continues to be one of the year’s most-talked-about TV phenomenons online, with the hashtags #TeamConrad and #TeamJere trending globally in recent weeks.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the bestselling coming-of-age book trilogy from writer Jenny Han and is about a group of childhood friends who convene every year on a fictitious American seaside town called Cousins Beach.
At the centre of the story is Belly (Lola Tung), caught in a sweet love triangle between two brothers, Conrad (Christopher Briney) and Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno).

The third series, which will eventually drop on the streaming service in more than 240 countries globally, has had to be delayed due to the ongoing writers’ strike, with production not due to begin until after labour negotiations with unions have been resolved.
“It’s been hard not being able to work on the show because of the ongoing strikes, but we can’t wait to get going on Season 3 as soon as we’re able,” Han wrote on her Instagram page.
As well as this popular trilogy, Han is also the bestselling author of the To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before series, recently adapted, along with its spin-off XO, Kitty, for Netflix.
