Baldivis crash: Crash victim Kody Bell’s wife Gabrielle Bell pleads with motorists not to drink and drive

The widow of one of the three men who died in a horror head-on crash in Baldivis has tearfully pleaded with motorists not to drink and drive because “all that it leaves is heartache and grief for everyone that loved them”.

Kody Bell, a 24-year-old married father of two, and his younger brother William, 21, were backseat passengers in an Audi A3 driven by Jaziah Thomas, 24, when it ploughed into a Kia Stinger on Sixty Eight Road in Baldivis about 5.10pm on Wednesday.

The force of the impact was so severe all three died at the scene before they could be pulled from the car.

On Friday, Kody’s wife and mother of his two children, Gabrielle Bell, thanked the first responders who did everything they could to help.

“Three young men lost their lives and two victims thankfully survived,” she told 7News.

“I want to thank all of the first responders on the scene who did everything they did to help. I wish a smooth and speedy recovery for those who miraculously survived.”

Mrs Bell expressed her condolences to the parents of her husband and his brother, as well as Mr Thomas’ partner, who is also left to bring up two young children alone.

“Our family is devastated over the loss of Will and Kody,” she said.

“William was a funny, caring and vibrant man who loved many and was loved by all. He was my children’s godfather and a proud uncle. I was proud to call him my brother-in-law.”

Breaking down in tears, Mrs Bell said: “To my beautiful husband, Kody Bell. This is something I never imagined I’d have to do.”
