Barbour boosts senior team, Wilkinson role is enhanced

Barbour has made two key appointments to its leadership team as it continues to target growth around the world, with Paul Wilkinson, taking up the brand-new role of deputy group managing director and group commercial director.

At the same time, Neil Parker has become managing director of global distributors.

Wilkinson had been responsible for global marketing and commercial as well as being US MD, and he added the UK and Ireland MD position to his remit earlier this year.

He’ll now be in charge of sales and marketing globally, and will continue to report to group MD Steve Buck. He remains on the company’s executive board as well.

Buck said of Wilkinson: “Paul has done an exceptional job and has made a significant contribution to the success and growth of both Barbour and Barbour International across the UK, US and our global markets.”

Meanwhile, Parker joins the heritage brand from fashion label Gant where he’s been MD for the Asia Pacific region for almost two years. Before that he was at Crocs, Tommy Hilfiger and Levi’s. Given his strong experience in APAC, it’s no surprise that his particular focus in his new role will be on that crucial region. He’ll report directly to Wilkinson.
