The Bears offense scored two touchdowns and two field goals on its first five drives of the second half, leading to a 13-13 tie with the Lions. The team then scored two touchdowns and a field goal on drives that started at the 50 and the Lions’ 29 and 30. Justin Fields threw a 38-yard touchdown pass to DJ Moore on 4th-and-13 and scrambled for an 11-yard TD.
Fields had 19 completions for 223 yards with one TD and a 88.3 passer rating, plus 58 yards on 12 carries. Moore caught six passes for 68 yards and one TD, and also scored another touchdown on a 16-yard run.
The Bears defense had a strong showing, producing three takeaways and four sacks. This helped the team avenge a previous loss to the Lions and limit Goff to a 54.6 passer rating.
Defensive tackle Justin Jones, who had 1.5 sacks in the game, said, “The way we lost that last game in Detroit left a bad taste in our mouth. So we came out here and knew that we had to pay attention to details and made sure that we honed in on what exactly we had to do this game.”
After winning the coin toss, the Bears took the opening kickoff and scored a touchdown on Moore’s 16-yard run. The TD came on a well-designed play and was followed by Cairo Santos’ 46-yard field goal late in the first quarter.
