DStv Premiership powerhouse Kaizer Chiefs are highly regarded by many high profile coaches. The list includes Manchester United‘s Benni McCarthy.
BENNI MCCARTHY WOULD NOT SAY NO TO KAIZER CHIEFS
McCarthy’ currently the striker’s coach at Manchester United, has simply said he would sit and think about an offer from Amakhosi. The Hanover Park-born legend said noboby it’s not easy to say no to an institution like Kaizer Chiefs.
“If the opportunity arises to coach KaizerChiefs, obviously you will have to sit down and think about it,” McCarthy said to Robert Marawa on 947 after he was asked about the job.
“Like i said, you don’t say no to an institution,” McCarthy added.
In the meantime, McCarthy’s deal with the Red Devils is ending in June, and the South African is yet to receive a new offer. Peter tu Doit, a close ally of McCarthy’s agent Rob Moore, recently claimed that McCarthy will leave Manchester United.
“l know Benni’s contract at Man U ends in June & that Ten Hag won’t be at MU by then,” Du Toit said via X.
“So, believe me, Benni will leave. SA football needs Benni & SA also needs Hugo Broos now & for the long term. Make Broos TD & Benni & Helman heading the coaching. That could secure Bafana’s future,” Du Toit concluded.
Meanwhile, the situation has since changed in favour of McCarthy. The head coach who brought him in, Erik ten Hag, is no longer facing the axe after winning the FA Cup last weekend. This means that McCarthy is more likely to be offered a new deal.
