Germany-based jeweller and watchmaker Thomas Sabo said it has made a key personnel change that’s part of it “looking to the future”. It has named Bernd Stadlwieser as the new group CEO, with the exec starting his role in January 2024.

Stadlwieser had “already played a key role in shaping the company” as he was CEO until 2012. He joined the firm originally 11 years earlier as MD for the UK and Switzerland.
Since then he’s been CEO of holding company Avenso, of Mondaine Watch and marketing network MCH Group. Most recently he’s been Chief Strategy Officer and a board member at jewellery business Glambou that he co-founded.
He’ll once again take over the operative management of the business, supported by Chief Operating Officer Hanno Chevalier, who has immediately stepped up as a member of the management board.
Company founder Thomas Sabo remains Chairman of the business.
The Thomas Sabo brand operates in more than 70 countries worldwide, through its own flagship stores, points of sale, wholesale partners and the global online store.
The company has been expanding its stores network recently and only in October extended its two-year-old Saboteur jewellery brand and piercing studio to the UK with a Manchester debut. It also announced plans for openings in Cambridge and Leeds.
