Bestseller’s Object links with Evrnu on fibre that can be endlessly regenerated

Bestseller’s Object brand has partnered with US-based “fabric innovator” Evrnu for a capsule collection “made with a fibre that can be regenerated” again and again.

That’s a key development in a world in which regular regeneration of fibres and fabrics is a tough and usually impossible task.

They’ve come up with three styles “promoting circularity and reducing waste” that are made with Nucycl, a fibre made from cotton-rich textile waste, replacing virgin tree pulp. 

It has a “soft touch with a cotton-like feel, while being absorbent, breathable, and durable,” we’re told. But the important point is the fact that it can be “”regenerated through the same process over and over”.  

Stacy Flynn, co-founder of Evrnu, said: “Nucycl sets itself apart from other fabric recycling methods as it creates new fabrics on par with, or even higher quality than, the original virgin fibre. This exceptional characteristic offers the textile industry an alternative without compromising on performance. By repurposing textile waste into Nucycl fibre, we reduce our reliance on virgin resources, paving the way for a fashion economy where waste is transformed into valuable resources.”

Bestseller put money into Evrnu at an early stage through its Invest FWD investment arm with the company’s Innovation Manager Camilla Skjønning Jørgensen saying the Danish fashion retail giant “focuses on systemic changes in and beyond the fashion industry, and without the solution-oriented minds of innovators and willingness from brands we cannot prevail. This makes collaborations such as this one crucial”.

Meanwhile the small capsule collection itself comprises a dress, a shirt, and a pair of trousers featuring “easy silhouettes with clean lines and monochromatic prints in timeless styles”.
