NC State vs. Virginia pick
NC State and Virginia kick off ACC conference play tonight in Charlottesville. The Wolfpack come in at 2-1 while the Cavaliers are 0-3.
BetMGM is favoring NC State by 7.5 points and I love that line for the Wolfpack. NC State is just a much more stable program and has a veteran starting quarterback in Brennan Armstrong.
The Wolfpack haven’t looked amazing in their first three games, but they at least appear to be a competent college football team. They took care of business against UConn and VMI, and hung tough with Notre Dame for three quarters in their Week 2 loss, so they should be able to handle Virginia. NC State already has nine sacks so far and its pass rush could be a huge problem for UVA.
This season has not gone well for the Cavaliers. They suffered blowout defeats to Tennessee and Maryland, but their most painful loss of the season was a one-point loss to James Madison in Week 2. Virginia’s biggest issue is its defense that has allowed at least 36 points in every game.
