Black Ops 6 is coming to Game Pass on day one

Following months of speculation, Microsoft has finally confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be available on Game Pass at launch. Fans have been waiting for this announcement ever since Microsoft closed its deal to acquire Activision Blizzard King last October.

Activision announced that Black Ops 6 would be the next entry in the long-running Call of Duty series last week in a post on X. Then, on Monday morning, Activision shared a live-action trailer for the new game featuring actors playing Bill Clinton, Colin Powell, Saddam Hussein, Margaret Thatcher, and George H.W. Bush, which you can watch below:

We don’t know much about the plot of Black Ops 6, but based on the historical figures the trailer highlights, it’s clear the game will take place during the Gulf War. In fact, there were rumors early on that the game would be called Call of Duty: Gulf War.

Thankfully, we won’t have to wait much longer to learn more. Last month, Microsoft announced that it will be hosting a Call of Duty Direct right after the Xbox Games Showcase on June 9. We will likely get our first look at gameplay footage during the live event.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is being co-developed by Treyarch and Raven Software. The two studios previously worked together on 2020’s Black Ops Cold War, which was the fifth entry in the Black Ops sub-series. Like other recent entries, Black Ops 6 should feature a single-player campaign, online multiplayer, and a cooperative Zombies mode.
