LONDON — Naomi Campbell is going from supermodel to car model.
BMW’s latest model, the XM Mystique Allure, is not a regular vehicle. It’s not inspired by any abstract ideas or speed, but rather by the British model herself and “high fashion materials,” according to the brand.
The new car is in the model’s favorite color, ultramarine, a deep blue that can almost pass for purple and is finished in matte. The interiors feature rich velvet fabrications and shimmering, metallic sequins.
BMW will present the car at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it is an official partner.
“Witnessing BMW’s vision for the BMW XM Mystique Allure come to life has been truly incredible. I feel deeply honored to have sparked the inspiration for their first high-fashion show car, which stands as a unique masterpiece in every aspect,” Campbell said.
The German car manufacturer has been working with film score composer Hans Zimmer on the sound experience of the car.
Zimmer has been working on other projects related to sound with BMW since 2021.
The collaboration with Campbell is a continuation from when the model starred in BMW’s XM car campaign in 2023.
Next month, Campbell will open her own major exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London’s South Kensington.
The exhibition, titled “Naomi,” will run from June 22 to April 6, 2025, and trace her four-decade career.
