Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Bongani Zungu has reportedly joined Rulani Mokwena at Wydad Casablanca.
The 31-year-old former Rangers star left Masandawana early in June after two years with the Tshwane giants. According to various reports, Zungu has completed his medical as he awaits his unveiling.
Wydad announced on Tuesday that they will be revealing six new signings and it is believed that ‘Ben 10’ is one of them. Zungu and Rulani have had a great working relationship even during the midfielder’s first stint. He left the club for Europe in 2016 but only spent six years before reuniting with Mokwena at Downs
The lanky midfielder made 13 league appearances for Sundowns last season before ending his two-year stay. Last week, Rulani hinted that Zungu might join him at Wydad.
“I love Bongs (Bongani Zungu), Bongs knows me, I know him. It’s easier when you know the coach, the player knows you,” Mokwena told Thabiso Mosia on Game On.
“There is a possibility of (Zungu joining Wydad AC). He knows, if he doesn’t find anything, he knows my number and he can always contact me.

“It’s not to say the door is open, the door is closed. But He is very special to me.”
Zungu was linked with a move to Kaizer Chiefs in recent weeks after leaving The Brazilians. It turns out that the move to Amakhosi was never on in the first place.
Zungu might not be the last Sundowns player to join Rulani Mokwena at Wydad. The likes of Khuliso Mudau and Teboho Mokoena are likely to leave Masandawana this coming weeks having received offers from other teams.
