Borsalino has a new head of marketing and communication, Alessandro Biamonti, who joined the Italian hat-maker last October from Italian label MSGM. Biamonti takes over from Sasha Camperio, who has been appointed marketing director of Haeres Capital, the Swiss investment firm that manages the brands owned by the ChimHaeres group, Borsalino among them.
A graduate of Milan’s Istituto Europeo di Design, Biamonti has worked in fashion for over 10 years. After a stint at communication agency Karla Otto, he joined MSGM, where he took charge of brand communication for seven years, before joining Borsalino.
Camperio has a BA in political science from the University of Lausanne, Switzerland, and a master in Information & Communication from Aix-Marseilles University. She began her business career at British American Tobacco Switzerland, as head of corporate and brand communication. Five years later, she set up her own communication agency, which she sold in 2001 to join Swiss watch-maker Omega, as head of PR, events, and brand ambassador relations.
In 2011, Camperio was named managing director of Quintessentially Lifestyle Group, spearheading the launch of Quintessentially, a high-profile event agency specialised in corporate event consulting. In 2018, she joined Borsalino, just after it was bought by Haeres Capital, her brother Philippe’s holding company. In 2023, Haeres Capital joined forces with Emirati private equity firm Chimera to create ChimHaeres, a new luxury holding company that manages assets worth €75 million, and owns among others Borsalino and long-established French label Vionnet.
