A boy has been slapped with a string of drug charges after allegedly making drug-laced gummies that sent two teenagers to hospital.
Police will allege a 16-year-old boy made cannabis lollies and sold three of them to a student at a school in Perth’s western suburbs on Tuesday.
The student, along with another female student — both aged 16 — consumed the lollies before they were taken to hospital.
Police were alerted by the school on Wednesday, and a search of the boy’s Dalkeith home was undertaken later that day.
The boy was then taken into custody and hit with several charges, including one count of sold a prohibited drug and one count of possession of prohibited drugs with intent to sell or supply.
He was also charged with one count of prepared a prohibited drug for use, one count of unlawfully possessed a controlled or prescription drug, two counts of possessed any drug paraphernalia, and three counts of possess a prohibited drug.
The boy has been released on bail and is expected to appear at the Perth Children’s Court on Thursday,
“There are no further public health concerns and the matter is believed to be contained at this time,” a WA Police statement read.
