An internet joke made its way to Super Bowl Media Day when San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy was asked a bizarre question about Lee Harvey Oswald.
On Monday night, Twitter user Josh Chavis went viral when he posted side-by-side photos of Purdy and the man who assassinated President John F. Kennedy. He claimed to have made the sudden realization that the two bore a vague resemblance.
“Holy shit,” Chavis said. “Been trying to figure out who Brock Purdy looks like for the last 2 years and it’s Lee Harvey Oswald.”

The next day, Purdy was asked about the tweet during the players’ media availability.
“Pictures of you and Lee Harvey Oswald [are] circulating around the internet right now,” the reporter said. “People think you two look alike. Did you hear that before?”
Purdy said he was unaware of the comparison. When asked how he felt about it, he made it clear he hasn’t crazy about it.
“Eh, yeah, I don’t — yeah, I don’t know,” a visibly uncomfortable Purdy said.
