Burberry unveiled this month a new store in Austin, Texas, reflecting the luxury fashion giant’s new creative vision under chief creative officer Daniel Lee.
Located inside The Domain, a premium shopping mall, at 11410 Century Oaks Terrace, the store is characterized by fixtures designed by artist Casey McCafferty, alongside rugs from British artist Tom Atton Moore, underscoring Burberry’s commitment to craftsmanship.
It opens with Lee’s Spring 2024 collection, including men’s and women’s ready-to-wear, shoes and accessories. Among the collection highlights are the Knight bag and Rocking Horse bag.
Introduced as part of the Winter 2023 collection, the Knight bag boasts a soft structure and is crafted in Italy from natural grain calf leather, suede, or shearling. The clip hardware pays homage to Burberry’s heritage with a playful nod to the Equestrian Knight Design (EKD), originally conceptualized in a public competition from circa 1901.
Meanwhile, the Rocking Horse bag, also inspired by Burberry’s EKD, is shaped like the beloved children’s toy and features a distinctive ‘b’ closure and a leather strap.
Last month, Burberry opened a new Paris store on Avenue Montaigne, also reflecting Burberry’s new creative vision. The fashion house is equally running a spring 24 pop-up in California’s South Coast Plaza mall, the biggest shopping centre on the US West Coast, until March 14.
