The product has been packaged with 23/02/2024 on its label instead of 23/01/2024.

It may be unsafe to eat due to the risk of bacteria growth that could cause illness if consumed after January 23.

Customers are being urged to bring the product back to a store as soon as possible for a full refund.

A recall notice from Aldi reads: “As a precautionary measure, our supplier is recalling packs of Specially Selected 2 Haggis En Croutes from our Scottish stores.

“Due to a packaging error, the product has been labelled with an incorrect use-by date.

“Customers are asked to return this product to their nearest store, where a full refund will be given.

“We apologise that this product did not meet our normal high standards and thank you for your co-operation.

“Customer services can be contacted on 0800 042 0800.”

It comes days after Aldi announced plans to shut its branch on Halbeath Road, Dunfermline next month to allow renovations to take place.

Shoppers will not be able to go back into the store for three months until May when renovations are expected to be finished.
