Caleres names new Famous Footwear general merchandise manager

Caleres announced the appointment of Andrew Leckie to the role of senior vice president and general merchandise manager at its Famous Footwear brand.

In this role, he will oversee buying and merchandising for the adult athletic, kids and Canadian businesses.

A footwear veteran, Leckie began his career in athletics and footwear nearly 30 years ago and has merchandise management experience in Asia Pacific, Canada, and the U.S. He has held various leadership roles in North America with Dick’s Sporting Goods and Foot Locker, with his most recent role being vice president, general merchandise manager of Champs Sports.

“Andrew is accomplished in developing and executing strategies, nurturing his extensive vendor relationships, elevating product assortment and leading a team,” said Mike Edwards, president of Famous Footwear.

“His global footwear knowledge and deep understanding of the marketplace will be essential as we continue to expand our appeal to and grow share with the millennial family. Andrew’s passion for the consumer and keen sense for trend identification coupled with his ability to build cross functional relationships will enable us to execute on our long-term strategic plan.”

Famous Footwear forms part of the Caleres footwear family alongside Sam Edelman, Allen Edmonds, Naturalizer and Vionic brands.
