The Rolling Stones’ RS No 9 store on London’s Carnaby Street has made a major impact since it first opened just over three years ago, and now the concept is going global.
We won’t see permanent RS No 9 stores appearing internationally but a series of pop-ups for the elevated retail concept are happening in the US and Japan.
It will be the first time the retail brand has been available outside of the UK with openings in New York City, Los Angeles and Tokyo.
It’s all linked to just about the biggest event surrounding the Rolling Stones for years, the launch of their new Hackney Diamonds album.
The pop-ups will feature the latest AW23 collection, new Hackney Diamonds album merchandise and the recently announced collaboration with KidSuper, the eclectic New York creative.
That collab includes premium merchandise items such as T-shirts, hooded sweats, headwear, and accessories.
There will also be collectible blind-bagged skateboards from The Berrics and signed fine art prints by band member Ronnie Wood, alongside limited-edition music formats.
The NYC store opens on Wednesday and runs until later this month at 37 Union Square, as does the LA store at 10250 Santa Monica Blvd. Meanwhile the Tokyo Harajuku store will open its doors on Friday.
