Carolina Herrera will stage its resort runway show in Mexico City on Nov. 14 — the second destination show for the luxury brand.
Last June, Herrera staged its resort 2024 show in Rio de Janeiro. It marked the company’s first runway presentation outside New York City. That event celebrated not only the ready-to-wear, but the fragrance side of the business as well. The runway show opened up into an after party for the new Good Girl Blush Eau de Parfum.
The Mexico City show, under the direction of Wes Gordon, Herrera’s creative director, will be the first time the house will be presenting a collection aligned with the in-store calendar.
The show is slated to be held at a soon-to-be announced location, following the regularly scheduled spring fashion show as part of New York Fashion Week in September.
In 2014, Carolina Herrera herself hosted a gala event for 500 people in Mexico City, which featured a fashion show. It started with the Carolina Herrera New York spring collection, followed by the spring CH line, a combination only previously seen in Singapore. The event was held in the former Claustro de Sor Juana convent, one of the colonial gems of Mexico. The occasion was timed to promote Mexico City.
Earlier this month, Gordon brought his fall 2024 Carolina Herrera collection to the Seattle Art Museum for the museum’s Spring Into Art fundraiser. The annual event, which raises support for the museum and wider Seattle art community, is hosted by the Seattle Art Museum Supporters and sponsored by Nordstrom.
