CELTIC are continuing their behind the scenes reshuffle at Lennoxtown by advertising a key job in Brendan Rodgers’ backroom team.
The Hoops have of course, seen Harry Kewell leave Rodgers’ coaching staff to take over at Yokohama F.Marinos earlier this year.
And just four weeks ago the club’s recruitment chief Mark Lawwell and lead first team scout Joe Dudgeon stepped down to take on other challenges in football.
The duo are currently on gardening leave following the March 1 announcement.
But in a move in the opposite direction, the club is seeking a new face to come in and get to work at the reigning Scottish champions.
They’re on the lookout for a new First Team Analyst to help feed back vital stats and data to players and coaches and enhance performances.
The new stats man – or woman – will have a key role in advising Rodgers and his coaches and furnishing them with video footage and info to help with game plans and set play strategies.
They’ll also work closely with the Hoops’ opposition analyst – a role previously filled by ex-SPFL bosses Peter Houston and John McGlynn.
Celtic’s job ad describes the job as “reporting to the Head of Analysis & Technical Operations, the First Team Analyst plays a crucial role in providing strategic and tactical insights to support the coaching staff and first team players in enhancing performance on the field”.
The ideal candidate will also be used to using data website Statsbomb for analysis and have a sports science, performance analysis or similar degree.
But that’s not all.
The Hoops are keen for the new analyst to be able to drive, and be qualified with Uefa at least up to the B licence stage… and experience of flying a DRONE is also a desirable skill.
That’s to record training and analyse the formation shapes and playing patterns from above, showing the Hoops are truly taking their job search to new heights.
Candidates are also expected to show evidence of their football knowledge either through a blog, coaching or analysis experience or playing background.
They’ll also have to present and package the information gathered to players and create software presentations as well as pre and post match analysis for the manager.
The full-time post was listed yesterday (March 26) though no closing date is listed on the ad.
